Lens of Fun

The most fun parts of our game will most likely be the combat. Out of all the game mechanics, it involves the player the most and has very powerful effects to the overall feel of the game. Players will enjoy the satisfaction of defeating their enemy, or perhaps the enemy will defeat them ensuing in a fun competitive environment.

What we need to improve right now is how our game looks. For now, it is just grey walls, simple character designs. We need to breathe life into our game with color, fluid animations and an environment that really engages the player.

Lens of the Toy

Without a goal, our game would lack a purpose of playing it. For a game that has no set goal, for example Minecraft, there is arguably an infinite amount of goals. That is because the player is allowed to do whatever they want, and the game will allow that. “When nature strikes back” is less open than Minecraft. What that means is that there is a set goal, and only a few ways to go about achieving that goal. We could open the game up by making the interactive world more open instead of just having a battle area. Also, adding additional objective or missions would create more gameplay variants.

The first things players will see is their character and the environment they are in. We feel players will be able to quickly acknowledge they can move around and once they find another character, determine whether or not it is a friend of foe. Basically, if the player chooses not to interact right away, they are not playing the game.
